It is now the end of Week 10 working on the project and with the interim report completed, the team had a focus to produce the remaining documents as defined in the project plan. This included a detailed methodology document, allowing an introductory user to reproduce the virtual factory that has been created by SPEAR. In doing so, the basic skills required to further progress in the software will be enhanced and part of the gap in existence due to a lack of training materials will be closed. A second document has also been started that SPEAR will use to validate their refined factory against. This will assess the standard of the virtual factory created, highlighting strengths, weaknesses and further improvements that could be made.

In the technical side of the project, progress has been made in the use of logic blocks and robot programs. The team have successfully imported an existing logic block which allows the use of default robot signals including an emergency stop function. It is hoped to fully implement this as a solution, in addition to the previous logic, in the coming week. Unfortunately however, any further progress was hindered by a faulty laptop. Once again, the software on the laptop was crashing leaving the team with only one PC to work from. A full restoration of Windows and the Process Simulate software has been carried out and it is hoped that this will resolve many of the problems that have repeatedly occured in the past two months.

It should be noted that the team has adapted very well to change and has handled the lack of a PC efficiently. Team members proactively worked on additional tasks and resultantly, steady progress was made in the production of documents which did not require the Process Simulate software.
