Refined Virtual Factory & Methodology
SPEAR worked hard this week to complete the methodology document that was started previously. A refined virtual factory for the purpose of this document has been created from scratch and is now completed along with the majority of the document. This has highlighted exemplerary productivity from the team and is evidence of excellent team dynamic.
In addition, a document named 'Defining the Level of Detail required for the Evaluation of a Virtual Factory' is close to completion. This will be used to evaulate simulations against and will act as a tool for SMEs to evaluate whether Virtual Commissioning is a feasible tool for uptake within their organisation.
Work was also started on the project in collaboration with Volvo and a deeper understanding of the task in the context of a larger project was established. Unfortunately, a number of 'teething' problems existed and progress was halted for the meantime. The team is in contact with Volvo regarding this matter and hopes to continue making advancements in the coming weeks.
On the whole, a great week for the team with two documents near completion. The team has produced both of these documents ahead of schedule and this will allow for a focus on the Volvo project in the remaining weeks of the project.
