Volvo Factory Tour
The highlight of the week for SPEAR has been a visit to the Volvo Factory today in Gothenburg. This gave the team an opportunity to see the simulated robots and resources in real life giving an appreciation of the shear size and scale of an actual assembly line. Further to this, the team received an allocation of parts from Volvo and have been assigned a project to develop the logic to complete an event-based simulation. This was a very exciting advancement in the project and collaboration with Volvo has now been established.
In terms of documentation the team is producing, great strides have been made in a methodology document. This will be based on a refined factory scenario that can be easily understood providing a structured training procedure that the team felt was lacking during the learning phases of the Tecnomatix suite.
We look forward to producing work in collaboration with Volvo as the project moves into its final phase!
